Heavy-Duty Below-Hook Drum Carrier
Drum Carrier Features
Morse Model 185AM-HD heavy-duty below-hook drum carrier with spark resistant parts allows you to lift, move and pour a drum weighing up to 1500 Lb. (680 kg), or a half-full* drum up to 800 Lb. (363 kg). Model 185AM-HD heavy-duty below-hook drum carrier is equipped with the MORCINCHTM Drum Holder to handle a 55-gallon (210 liter) steel drum with 22" to 23.5" (56 to 59.7 cm) outside diameter between the ribs. It also accepts MORCINCHTM Options to handle virtually any drum on the market.
The KEY ADVANTAGE of Model 185AM-HD is that it has spark resistant parts intended to reduce the possibility of mechanical sparks as a possible source of ignition. They are not a substitute for grounding and bonding for preventing static electricity discharges. Metals such as Monel are used in the drum holder bands and at the lifting eye. Stainless steel chain is used instead of carbon alloy steel chain across the front of the drum. Pull chain for the tilt-control drive has brass chain substituted for the steel chain.
To load the drum lifter, simply move the drum holder against the drum and cinch the chain. The standard drum tilt control is a chain wheel with 12' (365 cm) chain loop. Lift the drum and rotate drum 360 degrees in either direction. Drum can be held at any tilt angle.
The slots in the bottom of the frame can be used as a chain lock to prevent the drum from tilting. To do so, crisscross the chain and insert one side into each slot. If the drum handler is equipped with the MORStopTM Tilt-Brake Option, braking is immediate and automatic. To have the MORStopTM Tilt-Brake Option installed on your new Kontrol-Karrier, order Option # 3900i-P.
IMPORTANT - It is critical to use the correct holder and accessory to lift your drum type and dimensions.
Morse below-the-hook drum handlers and pail handlers are manufactured by Morse Mfg. Co., Inc. in Syracuse, NY 13208 U.S.A.
IMPORTANT: Every Morse below-hook drum handler is individually load tested at the factory at 125% of rated capacity as per American National Standard ANSI/ASME B30.20 and ships with a Load Test Certificate enclosed.
