Strategic Planning
It feels like a new beginning as we move into our second century of business. To make sure we continue to move forward as an organization we held a 2-day strategic planning process at the start of 2024. Day One was focused on values; we assembled a 16-employee team that represented all phases of Morse Manufacturing: new and tenured employees, young and ‘mature’, male and female, and representatives from each department at Morse (welders/machinists/assembly/sales/marketing/purchasing/engineering). The team identified 4 values that represent Morse Manufacturing: Family, Leadership, Pride, Safety.
- Family: The Morse Family represents our employees, our dealers, our suppliers, our end-users, and the Andrews Family that owns the business. Being a part of a Family means doing what’s ‘Right’. It means caring about your job. It means being proactive and helping when needed. Be outgoing and personable.
- Leadership: Morse Manufacturing demonstrates leadership through its products, business practices, and relationships. It means leading by example. It means developing the people around you. It means personal accountability & company accountability. It means developing goals with purpose.
- Pride: Morse Manufacturing instills a sense of pride through its products, practices, legacy and more. It means being a part of something bigger than yourself. It provides purpose and impact. It represents being your personal best. It means we are world class.
- Safety: Morse Manufacturing provides safe products, world class education on safe drum handling techniques and practices, and a safe space for employees. It means best practice, focus, organization, and consideration.
Day Two of the Strategic Planning Process was focused on goals; a smaller team of employees developed vision statements based on each of the values identified. From these vision statements we were able to develop 9 tangible goals. These goals range from (holding quarterly employee communication events) to (developing a European Dealer network). After 100 years in business, I am more confident today than ever before that Morse Manufacturing is pointed in the right direction. We are working hard on these goals to keep us moving forward.
