Still Using Outdated Drum Lifters?

Old barrel LiftersOld Pulley and rope barrel lifters
on display at Old Fort Niagara in Youngstown, NY. Established in the 17th century, the fort was key in controlling access from Lake Ontario through the Niagara River to the rest of the Great Lakes. In 1825 the completion of the Erie Canal bypassed this route. The strategic importance of Fort Niagara then declined.
